If you need some data on almost any kind of business topic, you can take a look at the website Statista.com. Every new years, people make promises for the upcoming year called 'resolutions'. You can use the base verb, to resolve to do something, for formal decisions and promises such as, "The Board resolved to reduce waste by 10 percent." These resolutions are usually mostly personal, but I notice on this years list that there are two work related ones (see chart below from Statista.com).

#6 on the list is "To improve my performance on the job" at 24%, and,#8 is "To reduce stress on the job." at 22% of respondents. Health, family and social life dominate work topics unless you interpret "Save money", as possibly to earn more?
'Improving performance' means one in four think they didn't work well enough or hard enough in 2025, or maybe they are feeling pressure to be more competitive in 2026 as the economy worsens and AI threatens to take jobs away? Are you feeling pressure on your performance, and what could you do to improve your performance in 2026?
'Job stress' seems to be an attribute of all kinds of work all around the world. I have read that interpersonal issues are a main source of job stress as are heavy work loads and high levels of responsibility. Perhaps if people can leave more time for friends and family, that job stress will automatically become more managable. How has your job stress level been in 2025? Do you have any advice to reduce job stress?
Let me know in the comments how you feel about your performance in 2025 and your work stress level. Maybe we can help each other have a better work and life experience in 2026.
